by Yves Brayer (1907 – 1990)

Awarded the Prix de Rome in 1930, Yves Brayer is still one the most popular laureate of the 20th century and one of the masters of the second School of Paris. Painter and tireless watercolourist, he was quickly recognized for his poetic picture, passionate about nature, the sun and horses. As soon as 1960, a museum was dedicated to him, gathering many prints and paintings of this resolutely figurative artist who considered painting as a celebration.
