Known since 1939 thanks to an article written by Pierre Mornand, editor for the journal Le Bibliophile, these engraved wood pieces by Émile Bernard were printed five years after his passing to illustrate The Song of Songs, 920 copies were printed. A work we can see as the spiritual testament of this outstanding engraver who founded symbolism.
