by André Lauran (1922 – 2009)

At 22 years old he was exhibited in the Museum of Valence, and he was close to painter Pierre Bonnard who he met in Le Cannet, André Lauran seemed to be destined for the life of a renowned painter. But his marriage in 1950 changed the course of his life as he moved to the United States to be a textile designer. When he came back to France, he chose to teach drawing in secondary schools while simultaneously developing a serene work where beach fronts, from the Mediterranean and Normandy, hold a big space.
